An American Kestrel perches nicely for me at Ridgefield on March 26, 2012. It’s not that often that I capture these birds on a natural perch. They seem to love the signs and posts around the refuge. I used fill flash on this shot due to the strong backlight. Taken with my Canon 7D, 1/1000, f5.6, ISO800, Canon 400mm f5.6L lens.
