Dance of the Shoveler

This shot is from a month ago (March 6, 2015) at the Ridgefield NWR.  It was nice of the duck to be facing me when he did the wing flap.

Canon 5D Mark III, 1/1250, f5.6, ISO 1600, 700mm, 4:56 p.m.

  1. Nice shot Dennis. I don’t mind admitting that I get pretty jelous when I see the variety you get at Ridgefield. It seems like an excellent and perhaps quite unique place.

    1. Thanks, Tony. Ridgefield is quite nice. A good bird watcher can spot 50-60 species of birds in a day here but of course, for photography purposes, we’re lucky to get decent shots of just a few of those species. I’ve become quite selective in what I shoot these days, sometimes causing me to come back with none to just a few keepers. Thanks for your comments!
