Early Morning Wader

Early Morning Wader

Early on Nov. 10, 2014, at the Ridgefield NWR, I spotted 3 Sandhill Cranes wading in some shallow water about a hundred feet away.  They spotted me–and since a hundred feet is way too close for these birds– they immediately began walking away.  I took this shot as one of them turned back to check me out.  I like the Pintail in the background.    Canon 5D Mark III, 1/1250, f4, ISO 1600, 500mm, 7:50 a.m.
