I was excited to spot this pretty, young Green Heron at the Ridgefield NWR, Sep. 8, 2014. These birds are sometimes known to hunt by luring in fish by using items such as insects, dropping the bait within the heron’s striking distance. Canon 5D Mark III, 1/640, f4, ISO 2000, 500mm, 8:28 a.m.
