What’s for Dinner?

What’s for Dinner?

Voles are quite plentiful now at the Ridgefield NWR, providing meals for herons, egrets, and various raptors that are skillful and patient enough to execute a catch.  This Great Blue Heron was already in stealth hunting mode when I pulled up in my truck about 50 feet away.  Within a couple of minutes the vole was in the shute.    Canon 5D Mark III, 1/2000, f4, ISO 500, 500mm, 10:45 a.m.
