200 mph bird, at rest

Early morning at Ridgefield NWR, June 24, 2015.  I observed a raptor on a tree a football field away.  My binoculars told me it was a Peregrine Falcon. I liked the light so I attached the 2x extender to my 500 and began shooting frames.  While the shot lacks some detail due to distance, hopefully, the light and pose help make up for it.  Peregrine Falcons have been clocked at over 200 mph when diving to attack their airborne prey.
