Family Quarrel (photo #1) Junior to Mom: “Hey Mom! I almost got the coot but I guess I didn’t squeeze hard enough!”

Referring back to yesterday’s post of the two Bald Eagles facing each other, that was really the second photo of the series (I posted it first because it was my fav!).  The image above is the first image taken when I initially noticed the immature bird flying in from the right.  Series taken Dec. 29, 2014, at Ridgefield, Wa.  It was fortunate for me that I just happened to switch over to my full-frame 5DM3 camera in the morning on this day (I had been using the 7DM2 with the crop sensor the four previous days of shooting).  If I had been shooting the crop camera I would have very likely clipped a lot more of the birds’ wings out of these shots with the crop sensor camera due to its 60% higher effective focal length.

Again, I don’t know for sure the relationship between these eagles but for the sake of a good story over the next few days, I’ll be referring to the immature bird as Junior and the other two mature birds as mom and dad (even though I’m not sure which is which).  It’s hard to tell from my images which eagle is the larger (female) but I’m going to refer to the first appearing adult as the mom–the one in these first two images.  I’ll add a caption to each shot in an attempt at humor.
