Today’s visit to the Ridgefield NWR was awesome right off the bat, primarily due to this Bald Eagle being perched at the ‘vulture’ tree near marker #4. This is as close to an eagle as I have been in many, many months at the refuge. The bird gave me enough time to shoot 20 ‘portraits’ before flying off–away from me. I liked this expression the best of all of them. I spotted three other mature Bald Eagles during the day but they were much further away.
