Sleepy Owl

Sleepy Owl

This was a pretty common photograph on Jan. 6, 2014, at the Ridgefield NWR, when word spread that a Barn Owl was sleeping in a hollowed out log in a dark corner near marker #9.  This is my version of the image.  I probably should have slowed my shutter speed to get a lower ISO setting.  I’m still getting used to the fact that I have image stabilization on my lens–something I hadn’t had for years prior with my 400mm f5.6.

Canon 5D Mark III, 1/320, f5.6, ISO 2000, 700mm.
