Meadowlark in… a Meadow

Feb. 20, 2015, at the Ridgefield NWR…I saw Western Meadowlarks on and off all day.  The grass was high enough to hide the birds when they bent down to forage off the ground.  It took keeping an eye on the birds as they made their way through the grass–heads popping up every now and then.  Every once in a while they would walk into a small clearing, which is where I caught this subject.
