Long Lower Lip

Here’s a Western Scrub Jay perched on a post at the Ridgefield NWR on Sep. 28, 2011.  Notice the bird’s elongated lower mandible (bill).  He appears to otherwise, be very healthy and seems to have figured out a way to survive with this interesting problem. Taken with my Can ... Continue Reading
