Mt. Tabor Park – Portland, OR, Jul 2, 2011

Posted in

I’ve been super busy around the house the past month or so and have found it difficult to get over to Ridgefield NWR.  So I’ve been taking some “mini” trips over to Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, which is only about a 20 minute drive from my house.  I was only able to capture some shots of the Spotted Towhee and the Song Sparrow.  I was actually pretty happy with the sparrow shots with their darker backgrounds.

And the Song Sparrow shots.

As we move into the season of slower activity for birds (at least in my neck of the woods), I’ll continue to get out and shoot as much as I can.  Thanks for stopping by to check out the shots for this short trip to the park!  See you next time.

  1. Even though you haven’t been able to get out much lately, you still managed to get some great shots of these two little guys! Really love the close-up of the towhee and the last sparrow shot is perfect! The pose is awesome and I love the light and dark elements of the background! Very nice, Papa!

    1. Thanks Kimi! Sometimes these little sparrows are underrated due to their somewhat drab coloring and the fact that they are so common, but I still like to make attempts at getting them to look special.
