Welcome to the 2nd part of my Nov. 25th wildlife photography shooting. These next 4 photos are of Tundra Swans at Rest Lake on the Ridgefield NWR. These swans are annual visitors and there are hundreds if not thousands of them out on the lake preening, feeding and resting.
These two just took flight. I wonder why just these two took off and where they are going? It would be fascinating to know for sure!
Here are two other swans making their way down for a landing on the lake.
Landing gear down….
And, touch down.
This Pied-billed Grebe gave me a quick look before diving into the water.
Northern Harriers love to fly over and around Rest Lake searching for a meal. While taking the swan shots this harrier flew by.
A Great Blue Heron is very serious about catching a vole out in this field.
I’ve been spotting deer at the refuge quite often lately. Here’s a portrait of a pretty lady to wrap up the day.
