I parked at Rest Lake on the Ridgefield NWR, Jan. 24, 2017, to watch a young Bald Eagle as it was standing on the ice-covered water. Pretty soon the eagle on the left swoops down to flush the innocent ice dweller. The ‘bully’ eagle could have landed anywhere on the ice but chose the exact spot occupied by the first eagle–obviously to show its hierarchical level in the eagle world at Ridgefield.
