July 18, 2013, at the Ridgefield NWR. This mature Bald Eagle was pestering some waterfowl in Rest Lake only about a hundred feet away. I caught this pose when it made a sharp turn to make another sweep of the ducks. It never did catch anything during this behavior but I was very happy with the shot. Update: This image was awarded “Honorable Mention” in the 2013 Ridgefield NWR photo contest.
