Ridgefield NWR, April 13, 2016, a first year Bald Eagle yields this vertical perch at the top of a tree to a slightly older bird. An unexpected surprise today was that I saw many Bald Eagles, including mature and immature. Several were content to just soar high above the refuge while others, mainly the juveniles, were out harassing the ducks and coots, and generally, just out to show other birds who’s boss.
