Preening Wood Duck on Perch

Wood Ducks, especially the males, have some of the most beautiful plumage.  They nest in trees and are related to Mandarin Ducks of Asia.  This shot was taken May 21, 2014, at the Ridgefield NWR in Washington state.    Canon 5D Mark III, 1/1000, f4, ISO 640, 500mm.
