“Feather Fluffer”

“Feather Fluffer”

In an earlier video post I explained my excitement about seeing two American Bitterns at one time.  I’ve now bettered that number to 3 at once.  Sep. 2, 2014, I was treated to watching one adult and two juveniles doing their best to catch something to eat.  One of the juveniles was especially animated and almost preferred flapping its wings while walking instead of just walking.  It would sometimes jump into the air for no apparent reason.  It was really fun to watch–especially the animated youngster–which is pictured here ruffling its feathers.   Hope you like it!       Canon 5D Mark III, 1/1600, f4.5, ISO 640, 500mm.
