Killdeer Calling Out

Posted in

One of the least skittish birds I’ve come across, this Killdeer landed on the gravel road right in front of my vehicle.  I was able to stop, exit my vehicle, and shoot many pictures of the bird.  All the while, it was calling to its mate standing not far away.   Canon 5D Mark III, 1/1600, f4, ISO 400, 500mm, 7:42 a.m.
