Yellowthroat on Tree Trunk

Yellowthroat on Tree Trunk

I’ve taken pictures of Common Yellowthroats in sticker bushes, in marshes, grasslands, and the like, but this is the first one that I’ve seen perched on a tree trunk in a forest. ┬áThis photo of the male was shot on May 21, 2014, in the Ash tree forest of the Ridgefield NWR in Washington state. ┬áCanon 5D Mark III, 1/250, f8, ISO 1000, 500mm.
