“To Go Anywhere That I Please”

“To Go Anywhere That I Please”

A common but nonetheless amazing raptor, the Red-tailed Hawk has its well-known descending harsh scream, imitated often by jays and European Starlings.  I was practicing my flight shots on the numerous geese out in Rest Lake (on the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge) when the hawk entered the area and flew right over my position.  I used the Canon 7D, 1/800, f5.6, 400mm, ISO400, Canon 400mm f5.6L lens.  Shot on Oct. 18, 2010.
