A sunny visit to the Ridgefield NWR, Feb. 7, 106, gave me this opportunity of a Mallard pair landing in one of the sloughs. The female gets top billing here as she faced me and landed nicely in the green reflected part of the water. I was originally waiting for a Great Blue Heron to fly from the other end of the slough, toward me, in hopes I could get an in-flight reflection shot. The heron never flew toward me so I settled for this one, which was completely unexpected. Thanks for looking!
