Among the birds I observed Oct. 27, 2014, at the Ridgefield NWR, was this male Hooded Merganser. He was a little further out than I would have liked but the deep green color of the water and his reflection intrigued me.

Gorgeous!!! Love the reflection and the detail in his tail feathers as they lay on the water! Amazing moment captured!
