Goldfinch on Teasel

Early morning, Sep. 28, 2010, at the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge found me waiting in my vehicle for one of several American Goldfinches to land on a teasel within camera view.  It’s almost like they know where to land to make sure you haven’t got a clear shot!  This one broke out from the pack and landed on a choice teasel resulting in a nice creamy background.  Taken with the Canon EOS7D, 1/250, f7.1, 400mm, ISO800, 0EV, with fill flash, Canon 400mm f5.6L lens.
