Great Horned Owlet

Oh, were we Ridgefielder Refugers fortunate in 2010 to watch two Great Horned Owlets grow up in the trees right in the vicinity of  the  road!   This shot was taken in May 2010 with a Canon 40D, 1/400, f8, 285mm, ISO400, +1EV, Canon 100-400mm lens.  I recall getting this shot only because a fellow photographer pointed out the owl which was probably less than 20 feet away.  It pays to exchange information with other photographers out on shoots!  I have gotten several shots of species I would have likely not seen had I not known where to look from word of mouth.
