I was lucky to spot this Great Blue Heron after it had speared a hapless frog March 23, 2017, at the Ridgefield NWR. The upper half of the heron was visible to me as I adjusted the position of my truck for the best view. The bird spent 5 minutes preparing the frog for consumption and easily swallowed it.
