The once brownish colored grasses of winter are now replaced with bright green vegetation at water’s edge, making the American Bittern much easier to see as it hunts at the Ridgefield NWR, May 22, 2015. The bird didn’t catch anything too exciting while I was there but it’s always fun watching them.
