Here’s a shot of the Blue Heron that I posted a few days ago, this time with the vole and only a split second before the Bald Eagle buzzed the heron and caused it to open its bill and drop the vole. I guess the vole owes that eagle a bit of gratitude for being instrumental in saving its life although the eagle probably had the same thing in mind as the heron did. Staring its mortal enemy in the eyes must have been very traumatic for the vole.
