This white-breasted version of the Red-tailed Hawk really grabs your attention when you see it perched somewhere on the refuge. Here the hawk had flown to location post #14 and let me get fairly close before flying off. The streaked belly band on most red-tails appears much higher than the band on this bird does. The sign in the background says, “Your car is your viewing blind.”

A fantastic shot Dennis – superb close-up of a beautiful raptor.
Thanks much, Tony!
