Jan. 20, 2016, while I was waiting at the Ridgefield NWR, for the Short-eared Owl to return to the spot I saw him the previous week, this group of Northern Pintails streaked across the cloudy sky over Rest Lake. The owl never showed before real darkness set in. I liked the symmetric formation in this image, that their bodies are parallel to each other, and that all the birds are in decent focus. This is their natural formation as captured by the camera.
