This immature Virginia Rail was hunting in the mud along with its parent at the Ridgefield NWR, July 10, 2015. These guys look real cute as little black fuzz balls when they first stray from the nest. Then they go through a temporary “questionable” phase as they grow up. But really they are beautiful just like nature itself.
