Eagles don’t tend to hang around our wildlife refuge much in the summer so I was happy to see this mature bird fly by, barely within range. This was one of a pair of matures and an immature I saw dive-bombing a pond way off in the distance. Afterwards, this one flew my way. Canon 5D Mark III, 1/3200, f5.6, ISO 640, 500mm.

We saw one a few weeks ago right in our neighborhood in Orchards. I was amazed.
Forgot to say….this is terrific!
Thank you, Sue! Yes, it is rare but a real treat to see them in our neighborhood. A couple of years ago I saw one near the Portland Costco. It’s wonderful they have made a successful recovery!
