On Sep. 30, 2015, I visited the Ridgefield NWR and spotted this Bald Eagle on the perch tree about 300 yards south of the vacant eagle nest. I spent over an hour waiting for the bird to take off and give me some flight opportunities or, I was hoping another eagle would show up and cause some interesting action. I had to head for home after over an hour of waiting and I’m sure something great happened right after I left. 🙂 But I’m very happy to even SEE a Bald Eagle at the refuge and I’m glad I was able to get this one shot of this majestic bird–even from a great distance.
