This is the 3rd photo I’m posting of the attack on an immature Bald Eagle by the mature bird, taken at the Ridgefield NWR on Feb. 19, 2019. Here the two birds are falling downward after impact, as the adult has turned upside down and has grasped the youngster’s right foot. It’s interesting how disheveled the young bird looks compared to the composed adult. This all started while the immature bird was minding its own business perched on a branch near the top of a tree. The adult swooped in and literally pummeled the younger bird, knocking it off the branch. If you haven’t checked out photos 1 & 2, click these links: Photo 1
