Here’s the 2nd image I’m posting in the Bald Eagle Attack series, shot Feb. 19, 2019, at the Ridgefield NWR in Washington State. While the first image shows the mature bird’s talons contacting the youngster, this second image shows the frame immediately prior to the contact–about a foot away. It shows that the juvenile eagle had already let go of the branch and lurched backwards just prior to the contact that was made by the adult.
