I spent the daylight hours today, (Jan. 14, 2015) at Ridgefield NWR. It was great to experience NO FOG! Such a difference from the day I went the week prior when the fog did not lift at all during the whole day. Today there was some high clouds to filter the harsh sunlight–perfect light for so many types of bird shots. The refuge provided me with a couple decent opportunities to shoot Northern Harriers in flight. The above image was taken just after the harrier had finished a meal on the gravel road in front of me.

A lovely shot Dennis – great eye contact focus.
I appreciate your nice comment, Tony! Thanks!
