I haven’t gotten a decent shot of our resident Great Horned Owl mama for many months. It was nice to see her perched out in the open about 30 feet from the nest tree, even if she was only half awake. The male was also close by but not in a good place for pictures. Ridgefield NWR, Feb. 15, 2015.
