This Great Horned Owlet has been visible at the refuge to visitors for a couple of weeks but it’s the first look I have had of the cute youngster. Taken on a fairly dark, overcast morning, June 2, 2014, at the Ridgefield NWR. Canon 5D Mark III, 1/250, f4, ISO 2000, 500mm.

Ha! Thanks, Sue! I was lucky when I first saw the bird as it was out in the open. It didn’t take long and it walked behind some branches. So I had a good look at it for a minute or so.
Beautiful image Scott!
Thanks, bro’!
