Visiting the Ridgefield NWR today, Oct. 14, 2015, and noticed a huge increase in the number of Red-tailed Hawks that were hanging around–some fairly close. I was parked about 30 feet from this perch when this cooperative bird decided to land there. Nice birdie! Other than needing a little tidying up in the bill area, he/she’s a good looking specimen.
