This was a pretty common photograph on Jan. 6, 2014, at the Ridgefield NWR, when word spread that a Barn Owl was sleeping in a hollowed out log in a dark corner near marker #9. This is my version of the image. I probably should have slowed my shutter speed to get a lower ISO setting. I’m still getting used to the fact that I have image stabilization on my lens–something I hadn’t had for years prior with my 400mm f5.6.
