I wanted to show just one more image from my Dec. 2014 eagle encounter. This one I wrote a little about in the caption to the image I posted yesterday. This is two seconds before yesterday’s image was taken. Here, the adult flies in and actually makes wing contact with the youngster, knocking it onto its back as the other adult looks on. The adult’s talons probably contacted the immature bird, too. I’ve never witnessed this behavior before or since–I just wish the adult’s head was visible in the shot.
