Here’s another image of the Short-eared Owl I spotted on Jan. 15, 2016, at the Ridgefield NWR. Since then, there have been more spottings of multiple birds even in the mid-morning hours, which gives all visitors a reason to believe we’ll see more of these awesome raptors–maybe into February. This is another shot from quite a distance but the bird’s glance to its right seemed to be an interesting pose to me.
