I was out shooting at the Ridgefield NWR, Oct. 5, 2012, and am now noticing an increase in the number of hawks. It’s good to see them around again after a couple of months of low activity. The Red-tailed Hawk in this photo gave me several opportunities for shots on different perches. Here the bird gives me a classic pose on a wooden post just as a Yellow Jacket is flying by. Taken with a Canon 7D, 1/1250, f5.6, ISO400, Canon 400mm f5.6L lens.
