While driving through the woods at the Ridgefield NWR, it’s always good to keep your eyes open for the Brown Creeper, which walks up the trunk of trees foraging for food. It’s always a bonus for photographers when a creeper appears in the right light, not too far away, with a nice background, and the bird is located in exactly the right place on the tree trunk–and not too far up. In other words, the moon and planets must virtually line up, so to speak. I was quite fortunate on Nov. 9, 2015, to get this opportunity.
