This Savannah Sparrow was chirping and holding this grasshopper for the longest time, July 14, 2015, at the Ridgefield NWR, giving me all sorts of poses. The bug was so big that it covered up the bird’s face in most of the shots! Lots of these birds around the fields of the refuge this time of year.
