This is my annual obligatory April shot of the Common Yellowthroat, taken at the Ridgefield NWR, April 17, 2015. I actually heard one or two of them in March but didn’t see their black-masked eyes until April. I haven’t seen a female yet. These birds migrate one to two thousand miles to get here from the warm climates of Mexico and surrounding areas.
