My first spotting this season of a White-crowned Sparrow at the Ridgefield NWR, May 1, 2015. I haven’t been to the Tualatin River NWR west of Portland for a couple of years but I remember seeing many of these birds there during spring and summer, in and near the parking lot. From my experience, they aren’t nearly as numerous at Ridgefield, especially within photo distance. This I believe, is my first shot ever of a mature WCS at Ridgefield.
