My previous shot of a Black Phoebe was in Nov. 2010, so this is a fairly rare find for me at the Ridgefield NWR. When I spot it, it’s usually between markers #3 & 4, but I’ve heard of it being spotted elsewhere, too. This was taken October 5, 2012 as it was perched on the motorized metal gate that opens to the “unauthorized to the public” areas to the west–marker #4. Canon 7D, 1/1250, f5.6, ISO 400, Canon 400mm f5.6L lens.
