It’s been a while since my last visit to Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, OR, as most trips there are a bust for me in the area where I look for birds to photograph from my vehicle. I have had a couple of trips to Mt. Tabor that resulted in a nice variety of birds in this lush, green environment. On May 29, 2015, my one and only bird shot of the day was this Northern Flicker which was close enough to fill the frame vertically. The shot in the shade required a much slower shutter speed than I typically shoot at. I believe the reflection in the bird’s eye is the road from which I am shooting.
