Maybe not hugely exciting to most folks but on our refuge these critters are on the quasi-endangered list. This coyote could be eradicated by refuge managers if it’s not careful. Managers decided it was more important to protect the Columbian White-tailed deer population so they have been shooting all the coyotes over the last few years. Hopefully, at some point, the deer population will rise to a level where the coyotes can also exist at the refuge.
